How market cap is calculated
Crypto market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply. It is a quick size estimate, not a measure of cash in the project or guaranteed liquidity.
Example
If a token trades at 2 and has 50 million circulating tokens, the estimated market cap is 100 million. Changing supply can matter as much as changing price.
Common mistake
Do not compare two tokens by price alone. A low-priced token can still have a large market cap if the circulating supply is high.
