Scaled amount = original amount times new servings divided by original servings. Keep the same unit you started with.
Resize any ingredient amount when changing the number of servings.

If 2 cups serves 4 people, scaling to 6 servings gives 3 cups. Scaling to 8 servings gives 4 cups.
Some ingredients do not scale perfectly by arithmetic, especially salt, spices, yeast, thickener and cooking time. Use the result as a starting point.
