How stacked discounts work
The first discount reduces the original price. The second discount is applied to the reduced price, not the original price.
Example
20% off 100 gives 80. A further 10% off gives 72. That is a 28% total reduction, not 30%.
Common mistake
Do not add stacked discount percentages unless the shop explicitly says the total discount works that way.
